The Audio Production Awards Press Release

On Thursday 23rd November 2017, Neston film-maker Daniel J. Fox will attend a gala awards ceremony at the BFI Southbank, hosted by Radio 2 DJ Trevor Nelson MBE. The Audio Production Awards recognises and celebrates outstanding achievement in audio and radio production, within designated categories, covering both producers and on-mic talent.

Daniel has been nominated as Best Digital Producer, for a series of films he made to publicise the return of the British science fiction hero, Dan Dare.

Released as a series of audio adventures by Andrew Mark Sewell’s B7 Media, the CDs star Ed Stoppard (The Piano), Heida Reed (Poldark) and Geoffrey McGivern (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy). The dramas have received rave reviews from Dan Dare fans old and new.

To promote the launch of the audio adventures, Daniel’s company, Chat Noir Productions Ltd, was commissioned to produce a number of web documentaries. With cast and crew interviews, animation and access to the original Dan Dare artwork library, the films not only capture the making of the new audio dramas, but also provide a history of Dan Dare from the 1950s to the present day.

Chat Noir Productions Ltd faces stiff competition from radio industry stalwarts like the BBC. However, Daniel J. Fox said, “It would be fantastic recognition and a great boost for all the team - both at B7 Media and Chat Noir Productions - if we come away with the award for Best Digital Producer on Thursday night.”

Chat Noir Productions Ltd was established in 2003 by Daniel J. Fox and Mark Ellingham. Specialising in corporate films, animations and documentaries, the company has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, now with a client base across the globe.
